Some Light Reading
Weston decided to do some light reading this past Saturday and his magazine of choice was ESPN. He is his father's son : )
Catching Some Zzzzzz's
I really like sleeping pictures because when I was little my mom took a lot of me because she would always find me asleep in funny positions. Weston doesn't fall asleep in too many funny positions, but I still like to see him sleep. He always looks so peaceful. Here are a few of my favorites over the past few months.
He likes to hold this bear and play with it when he's falling asleep sometimes, and it rattles, so I know when he wakes up because he starts playing with it again.
After a long day of errands
On the walk home from taking Casey lunch.
He had rolled over on the couch and this is how we found him. He woke up a few minutes later though.

Jenna's Sacrifice
When I left for work Thursday morning something seemed a bit unusual. Jenna was still in bed sleeping with Weston. I usually get up between 7 & 7:30 and I'm usually out the door before 8. And most of the time when I wake up, Jenna is already in the living room playing quietly with Weston, trying to make sure that I get enough sleep. On top of that she typically makes me breakfast before work, something I definitely don’t deserve.
Even on Sundays, when Jenna loves sleeping in, she will be up before 8 to play with Weston while my lazy A sleeps in bed. This morning, I had to convince her to take a nap, ensuring her that I was capable of watching Weston while watching team USA dominate team China.
As Jenna's family probably knows all too well, Jenna's sleep is very precious for her. And yet over the last 4 months I can not recall a single instance of her complaining about a lack of sleep or even hearing an expression of desire to receive more sleep. She has replaced what used to be very important to her with making me breakfast and loving our child.
She couldn’t wait to be a mom, and now she’s enjoying every moment.

4 Months
Weston turned 4 months a few days ago. I know, it seems like just yesterday he was 3 months. Of course, that could be that I just posted about him being 3 months yesterday : ) Well, a lot can happen in a month and he got even bigger. It feels like he weighs a ton, but he doesn't look it. Here are some of the new things he is doing:
-Sucking his toes. Gross and cute at the same time.
-Rolling over from his back to his tummy. He's done this twice now.
-Went to the drive-ins for the 2nd time and was good.
-Has more hair, but it is hard to see since it is blond.
-Can sit up without help for a while now.
-Laughs when everyone else is laughing.
-Loves to listen to music and listen to Casey and I sing along. I think he is going to be a Karaoke fan : )
-I can get him to smile for the camera pretty much every time now.
-Loves to be outside: in the pool or on the grass. He just looks around and observes.
-Likes to reach up and touch our faces.
-Tightens up his body when I go to put his new diaper on, which makes it hard to do up.
-Is growing out of his clothes way too fast.
-We have an exercise ball that he loves to bounce on. It also helps him calm down for bed/naps.
-Likes to go one walks to take Daddy lunch : )

A Night At The Drive-In
Last weekend we went to the Drive-In with Jason and Ashley to see Dark Knight. The drive-ins are not typically Casey's favorite place to watch a movie and this last visit didn't help matters. The speakers kept going out, so he was a little frustrated. Dark Knight was still good, but we'll definately have to see it again. We watched half of Get Smart until we fell asleep, so we'll have to see that one again too. All-in-all it was still a fun night.
Weston and Casey waiting for the movie to start. This was Weston's 2nd time at the drive-in.
A "Great" Visit
My grandparents were going to a Shakespeare Festival in Northern California, so they stopped by to see Weston for the first time and visit. They've been out of town and have missed a few of the family gatherings lately, so it was nice to see them. Thanks for the visit!

Family Pool Party
Casey's mom came into town a few weeks ago and before we headed over to the Nartker's for a BBQ, we had a pool party at Jason and Ashley's. I was excited because I had just bought Weston a baby floatie and wanted to try it out. He absolutely loves it and it is supposed to last for up to 24 months, but I'm hoping to teach him how to swim before then. At least that is my goal, we'll see how it goes.
He loves to stick his hands in the water then suck on them.
The new floatie. Worth every penny.
When Paisley got her turn, all she wanted to do was lick the water. Who knew chlorine was so tasty? : )
Teaching Weston &Paisley how to share. She chewed on the floatie most of the time and he tried to chew on her head.

Weston's Own Personal Tub
Casey had the brilliant idea to put Weston in the sink and of course he loved it. He just sat there looking in the mirror and playing with the faucet. He liked it even more when Casey put him in the sink a few days later and turned the water on. He made a huge mess splashing around, but it made the cutest pictures : )

A Surprise Visitor
4th of July
Our 4th of July started out pretty typical with our ward breakfast, but we left soon after because Casey needed to study and Charity and I were going furniture shopping. Yeah! Not really though. I always thought furniture shopping would be fun, but I think that it's only fun when you find exactly what you want and have an unlimited supply of money. After our 5th store and no furniture, Charity took me to The Nugget which is a fancy grocery store up here. We got the ingredients to make a 4th of July tart then lunch and gelato. It was yummy! After lunch we hit up a few more furniture stores with Casey, then we split so that Charity and Casey could both study for their tests. Casey and I had In-N-Out for dinner because we figured that was close to a BBQ : ) Then Weston and I just watched movies. This was the first year that I haven't seen fireworks, but next year to make up for it I think we'll head to Lake Tahoe because I've heard the firework show is pretty cool there. I hope everyone else had a more exciting 4th!
Weston holding his flag and opening his first package from Mama & Papa (my parents). My mom makes the cutest packages for the grandkids and I was so excited to get our first one : ) He wore his red, white, and blue outfit that day.
3 Months
After each month, I'm always amazed by how fast it goes. It never seems to go any slower and our little baby is already getting so big. Here are some new tidbits about Weston at 3 months:
-He blows bubbles and gurgles with his slobber
-Scratches his face all the time. This is partially my fault if I'm not on top of cutting his nails, but his nails grow SUPER fast and I have to cut them every other day. Seriously.
-Goes to bed around 9:30 and sleeps until 6 or 7.
-Continues to roll over, but now pushes his legs against the ground and wants to crawl so bad.
-Grabs and holds things a lot better.
-Found his feet, but doesn't play with them a whole lot.
-Is over sitting in his carseat while in the shopping cart. He likes to be able to look around.
Father's Day (Very Belated)
We had just driven up to Sacramento a few days before Father's Day, so it didn't go exactly like I wanted it to for Casey's first Father's Day, but we made do. Luckily, I had already gotten his Father's Day present and picked up the little onesie Weston is wearing below. Out of all the pictures I took of Weston wearing his Father's Day shirt, I figured this one was the most appropriate because it looked the most "thug-like" : ) Even though it is a lot bit late, I just wanted to wish Casey a Happy Father's Day on the blog and thank him for being the wonderful father that he is. I couldn't have dealt with Weston being in the NICU like I did without him and he was a huge help the first few months. He changed almost every single diaper while Weston was in the hospital and the first few months (even though the nurses were there). He is also really good about playing with Weston. Casey can make him smile like nobody else and you can tell that Weston loves his Daddy. I get a huge smile on my face when I watch them together and it makes being a mother that much better.

Fast Friends
When we first got to Sacramento, Jason and Ashley were kind enough to let us stay with them for a few weeks. The morning after we got there, Paisley and Weston woke up around the same time, so Ashley and I introduced them again (it had been a long time). We laid them on the blanket and right away, Paisley reached over and grabbed Weston's hand. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. They have been friends ever since, even though they are a little more agressive when they play together now : ) It has been really fun to have babies so close in age with Jason and Ashley.
Even though their faces don't show it, they really do like each other : )

Namesake
On our drive up to Sacramento from San Diego, we stopped by good 'ole La Canada to see our friend Chris Weston. Casey and Chris met in the Accounting program at BYU and have kept in close contact since. He also happens to be an all-around great guy and we really liked his last name, so we decided to name Weston after him.

We're Still Alive
I know you were all wondering where we went, but not to worry, we're back. We've just been moving from place to place, Casey has been monopolizing the computer to study for his CPA exam, and we didn't have the internet for three weeks. I know, excuses, excuses, but that's all I've got. I'll make up for it by posting everything that I would have during the time I was a slacker : )
