KPMG Farewell BBQ

KPMG had a farewell BBQ for all of the interns when they left. They had a really good food, a raffle, tug-o-war, a watermelon eating contest, and good times with all of the new friends that Casey has made over the summer. It was fun and made for good pictures.

The Watermelon Eating Contest
Look at them go!
I think Casey won, but some other guy stood up first. Casey was a little bummed, but he had fun.
8 boys against 16 girls. I thought the boys were going to win, but they didn't, and it wasn't even close.
Casey and his friend Eric challenged four girls afterwards and won. At least we know they weren't the weak links : )

Bite of Oregon

A couple of weekends ago, we went to Bite of Oregon in Portland where restaurants from all over Oregon came together to raise money for charity. Some restaurants had stands where they were selling food, there were live cooking classes, they were giving away free stuff, and there were concerts at different stages. Our favorite part was seeing the concerts, especially the band Augustana. You can listen to their music below : ) (Right click on the link, open in a new window, scroll down to videos and click on the ones that you want to watch.)

Family Reunion at the Oregon Coast

We had a mini Tanner family reunion this August in a beach house at the Oregon Coast. The water was really cold, but it was beautiful and we had a lot of fun taking walks, celebrating Charity's birthday, playing games, and just spending time as a family. We can't wait to get together again next year.

Tillamook Cheese Factory. I was excited about this because I absolutely love cheese : )

The water was COLD!
Striking a pose : )
We got to see beautiful sunsets every night
Some friendly competition. I'll give you one guess who's idea it was. Hint, hint...Casey.
Casey and I beat everyone in the end.

Family Photo

We thought it would make a cool picture : )

I loved Adalei's cute little sweater. It matched her adorable smile : )

Oregon Culinary Institute

One of the benefits of Casey being an intern is all the cool activities that he gets to participate in. I was lucky enough to be able to come to a cooking class at the Oregon Culinary Institute for one of them. We were divided into groups and were taught how to make different dishes by a professional chef, and then we all ate what everyone had made. It was really exciting and they gave us the recipes, so I was really glad that I can make some of the yummy things we made again.

Our Chef was really funny

Oh, Canada! Oh, Canada!

We had never been to Canada, so Casey's mom took us to Victoria one weekend. We didn't have as much time to do everything we wanted, so we'll have to go back, but it was so fun to go and see the slight differences. It was really beautiful. My favorite part was hearing their accents and to hear them actually say "Eh!" : )
We had never seen one of these before and thought that it was funny : )
Pictures from the Ferry

Parliament Building
These Statues were all over the city, so Casey thought it would be fun to take a picture of me in front of every single one that we saw. There were 20 in total, but these were my favorites.

The Undersea Museum

It was neat to see the Seaplanes land and take off

Unfortunately not our hotel, but it was so pretty we had to take a picture.
The ferry ride home (It was really windy at the front of the boat)
