Father's Day

Just a few pictures from Father's Day. We had a nice, quiet day. Casey got grates for the grill he got for his birthday and we had a yummy dinner of Hot & Sweet Drumsticks, Sweet Potato Souffle, and Steamed Broccoli. I love Casey and he is such a great father. Our boys get so excited when he gets home from work everyday and want to do everything he is doing. I couldn't ask for anyone better!
Opening presents
Balancing act
Isn't this what everyone does with presents after they open them?
The chicken I mentioned. I got the recipe from Pioneer Woman.

Summertime Fun

Our boys pretty much live outside during the warmer months. These are a few random pictures of them doing just that.
Gotta love that brotherly love
Weston hacking his way through the weeds. Our backyard at the house we rent gets very wild during the spring/summer.
Benson making his way through the weeds. It gives you a good idea of how tall they are.
Playing at the park. Benson likes to spin around on these and eat them too. He's a great multitasker.
All the boys taking a ride
Is that a worm?
Nope, it's a snake. These little guys are harmless and liked to hide under the bricks in our front yard. Weston thought they were fun to play with.
Homemade Strawberry Yogurt Popsicles are pretty good.

And were enjoyed by all.
We made very frequent trips to Folsom Lake. The kids putting sand on Malcolm while he relaxed in the sun.
Floating on the water with a little bit of hidden help :)
Weston loved to be spun around by Malcolm
Shirtless is the only way to wash the car. This was a typical Saturday afternoon activity.

Feliz Anniversario...That's how they say it in Brazil.

Casey had his 29th birthday on June 3. We went out together and everywhere we ate at and everything we did was something new. New experiences to start off his new year. I know, corny, but we had fun. His actual birthday was on a Sunday, so we just had a small gathering of family and friends to celebrate his big day. I made dinner, we had banana cream pie, and of course he opened presents. I'm already excited for his 30th birthday. Him, not so much :)

Benson played him a birthday song
Opening presents. Casey has the best surprised face :)
Trying out his present from me for the first time. We can't wait until summer again to use it even more.

Hail Storm

At the beginning of June (yes, I said June), we had a crazy hail storm. I was actually in Walmart and they announced a tornado warning and everyone started leaving. It was really weird and I don't think any of the formations came in contact with the ground, but it was pouring like I had never heard or seen before. I asked an employee if we had to leave and she said, "No, everyone just wants to get to their homes." I felt a lot safer in the Walmart, so we just browsed until the weather calmed down. When we got home, there was hail everywhere. It looked like snow and lasted a few hours.

The local news is priceless sometimes, and they reported on the storm that night. A reporter was interviewing some high school kids and was asking some pretty dumb questions like, "Where did it hit you?" "How did it feel?" Obviously, they were a little desperate for some news content.

A little Randomness

In no particular order here are a few random shots of the boys.

Nate and Misty came for a weekend visit and Brielle was nice enough to share her treat from class with her sister and cousins.
Anytime our neighbor was outside with his dog, Benson would climb on the table and yell, "Ella." (the dog's name which he started saying before Mama)
Weston being a "mummy"
Ridin' dirty
Benson used to fall asleep on in the weirdest places when he was smaller. One minute he was awake, dancing on the table, the next he was sleeping like a baby.
Our little bookworms

The boys love to wear my headbands. This is typical Weston, but he usually does it with his clothes on. From what I remember, he was being a baseball player. Not sure where the headbands played into that.
Benson struggling to stay on the ball so he can get into the computer.

His smile just melts my heart

Farewell Elder Pitt

At the end of May, we also got to see my brother Jonas give his farewell talk before leaving on his mission to Milan, Italy a few weeks later. The boys had a great time doing yard work with my parents and dressing up. Jonas gave a great talk in sacrament and it is always fun to see my family. We are so proud of Jonas and the decision he made to serve a mission.

Chris and Amanda's Wedding

At the very end of May we had the opportunity to attend our good friends wedding in Idaho Falls. Chris is the person we named Weston after and we have known Amanda every since they started dating a few years back. My parents were great and let us drop the boys off with them since it was a multiple day affair. We had a fantastic time and it was wonderful to see them get married. They looked so cute and happy.

Benson's First Haircut

Where were we? May 2011. Not too far behind :)

Towards the end of May, Benson had his first official haircut. We stripped him down to his diaper, let him pick a bike to sit on, and gave him a sucker. He did great and looked so big after it was all over.
The first buzz
After a few swats (I love that Casey is sticking out his tongue)...
...And a little bit of hair on the sucker...
...We have one handsome (albeit a little bald) boy. The dilemma: The rock or the sucker?
He tried the rock first
But the sucker won out
Weston chose the blue bike that day. You would think it would be hard to look tough wearing a diaper and sitting on a little bike with a sucker, but I think he manages to pull it off :)
