I Love This Man

I came home from a YW board meeting a few weeks ago to this kodak moment

It's my time to brag a little. Last month Casey got promoted to Senior at work, got a raise, and a bonus for good work. On top of that he got a 5 star rating for his work performance this last year. It is the highest rating you can get and not very many people did (about 3 in the west). The thing that makes me want to brag about all of this is the fact that Casey doesn't work totally insane hours. He works hard and fast and he always puts us first. He has still only worked two Saturdays since starting his job, and he is usually home to see Weston and Benson for at least an hour during busy season. I know that we are Casey's first priority and that he has been blessed in his professional life because of it. Thank you and I love you!

Gobble, Gobble

On our way home from church one Sunday we saw about 20 turkeys on the side of the road. I have never seen so many all at once in the wild before. It was pretty neat and so I stopped to let Weston see. Casey pulled up behind us and took Weston out to get a closer look and they spent the next 30 minutes or so chasing them down the street and through yards. Weston even herded 6 of them into our yard at one point and he was yelling "Turkey" or "Gobble, gobble" the entire time and having a blast. Ever since then he sometimes says, "Come here turkey" when we drive past the spot we first saw them.

Sunday Walk

Charity just moved and now has a room with a view of Folsom Lake. She also has access to the lake, so one Sunday we took a walk down to the beach to see what it was like. Before we knew it, Weston went from wading in the water to chest deep. What are you going to do? We let him have a little fun. It is a beautiful spot and we're looking forward to taking advantage of it.

Kids Say the Darndest Things

A few stories for your enjoyment:

-As I was feeding Benson one day, Weston was trying to tackle us or otherwise disrupt Benson while he was eating. During one of his tackles, I playfully pushed him away. He immediately looks at me and says, "Don't push." I say, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't push." he again says, "Don't push" then follows it with "time out." He then proceeds to take my hand and directs me to the "time-out" chair where he says, "Don't push. Time out 2 minutes" (which is how long he is supposed to stay in time-out). After a few seconds of me laughing and saying sorry. He takes my hand and says, "Come on." He was nice enough to let me out of my time-out early :)

-I was making cookies one day and showing Weston how the oven light goes on and off. He starts playing with it and saying "on" and "off," but when he turned it off he said, "Off. It's sleeping."

-I bought Weston some sidewalk chalk to go with our new backyard. One day he was playing with some, drawing on the doormat and sliding glass door instead of the concrete. This is how it played out:

Me: "Weston, please don't draw on the doormat and sliding glass door. Color on the ground."

Weston: (Looks at me blankly and continues to color on the mat and door).

Me: (frustrated) "Weston, color on the ground, not the mat."

Weston: (Continues to look at me while coloring on the mat, then slyly moves over to the glass door.)

Me: (bright idea) "Weston, whatever you do, don't write on the ground. You can write on the mat or the door, but please don't color on the ground."

Weston: (Starts coloring on the ground and doesn't color on the mat or glass door for the rest of the time he is outside.)

I love reverse psychology and my punk of a kid :)

5 Months

Benson turned 5 months on August 5 and is growing up way to fast. A few things he is doing:
-Loves to get and give kisses
-Gets on all fours all the time
-Is scooting
-Loves his feet and sucks on them all the time
-Only gets a messy diaper every couple of days.
-Is sleeping from 10 until 5 or 6.
-Sleeps on his tummy
-Loves to blow raspberries

Just being his handsome self.

Enjoying his feet while we enjoyed some Chik-fil-a Scooting. He is so much faster now.

We Moved!

At the beginning of August we moved. We are now renting a house and have since made many trips to Home Depot. We are loving our new place though. It is a little bit bigger, both the boys have their own room, and it has a backyard which has been a lifesaver for me. If you want our new address, just email Casey or me.

1st Annual Pitt Family Reunion

July 9-11 was my the first official Pitt Family Reunion, so after hanging out with the Millers, we headed to Garth and Janelle's to pass the time before the reunion at Lake Perris. We did some of our favorite things: went to Extraordinary Dessert with some of my sisters, Casey took the kids to the park, we all went out to dinner with my parents, and just hung out. Then it was off to the Lake to see the rest of my siblings and start the fun. We camped, played in the lake, ate good food, played games (My favorite and I played Mafia for the first time. Crazy, I know.), went on a little hike, Casey went rock climbing, and we got to enjoy being around my family. There is a lot of cousins, so it was really fun for Weston too. He was never wanting for someone to play with. Before we knew it, it was over and time to head home. Janelle and Jonas put it together and did a great job! Thank you! We had a lot of fun and can't wait until the next one!

All of us that could make it at one of my favorite restaurants: Extraordinary Desserts
My Passion Fruit Pavlova (and Casey's Truffle Framboise in the background). It is as delicious as it looks.
Weston all geared up to go to the park with his cousins

The Happiest Place on Earth

On our second day visiting the Millers, they were nice enough to take us to Disneyland. Kerstin was our tour guide and knew where everything was, so we were really efficient and got to ride all the rides we wanted to in the one day. We would ride swap, get fast passes, and watch each others kids so that the adults could ride the big rides. Whenever each of us had all four kids at one time, we got funny looks and many people thought we had two sets of twins. Kerstin and I were even able to feed the little ones on some of the longer rides to maximize our time : ) I love Disneyland and it was even more fun since Casey and I hadn't been in a long time. It was Weston's first time and when we talked about it he was excited to see Mickey Mouse, but when we got there he was a little awe struck all day. Don't expect to see many pictures of him smiling :) Thanks for taking us guys!

Jackson and Weston standing in line for Buzz Lightyear while Casey and I rode Space Mountain. Aren't they sweet?
Casey and Weston
Me and my two little boys. I was surprised at how many rides I could take Benson on.
Casey and I on Indiana Jones.
Kerstin and Ryan took the boys through Tarzan's treehouse while we were on Indiana Jones, and then we took them while they rode it. I think they walked through the tree house 3 times that day.
On the Jungle Safari. Weston really liked the animals.
Riding Winnie the Pooh
Posing with the Honey Pots. Weston didn't like to look at the camera either, let alone smile.
The eight of us with Tigger.
Weston with Ryan on Casey Jr.
Riding the teacups. We got a peach one since that is my favorite color :)
Wait, what is that I see? Weston actually cracked a smile. Don't worry. He made sure it wasn't too big though.
Casey pretending to be sick and Weston wondering what he is doing.
Weston zonked out around 5:00 and took a little nap, but our day was far from over. We still had about 5 hours left.
The Materhorn. Weston was tall enough, so Casey and I both took him on it.
The four of us in front with Mickey. Casey said this picture was a must so we took it as we were leaving. I can't wait until we get to go again.

Just Like Old Times

On our way to my family reunion, we stopped by to see our friends the Millers for a few days. They are old friends from when we were at BYU and we just love them. We used to hang out a lot and have shared so many great memories. Now we both have two boys and it is always fun when we get to see them. On our first day hanging out we went swimming then headed over to Kerstin's aunt and uncles for a BBQ and more swimming. They had really good tri-tip and yummy homemade ice cream. The boys had a good time swimming, while Kerstin and I sat poolside with the little ones. Kerstin has a great family and we had a lot of fun. Thanks guys!

Weston had a blast with Jackson on the trampoline now that he can jump better
Jackson and Weston enjoyed wrestling and fought over everything like brothers.

4 Months

On July 5, Benson turned 4 months. Wow, it has gone by so quickly and he is getting so big already!

-Rolls over. He is much better at back to front though. He gets his arm stuck when he is going front to back a lot of the time.
-Is slowly but surely getting more hair.
-Grabs at everything, including my hair.
-Loves to go swimming and he kicks and splashes when he is in the water.
-I love to hear Weston and him laughing when we are driving.
-When he is on his tummy and sees something he wants, he takes his legs and arms off the ground, balances on his tummy, and kicks his legs really fast. He wants to move sooo bad.
-Somehow moves all over the floor.
-Went on his 2nd road trip and did great.
-Was 13lbs 12oz and 25 3/4 in at his 4 month appt.
-Dances and stomps his feet when he is standing.

Benson on the day he turned 4 months with his friend Wade, who is 12 days younger than him.
Just a funny picture of him wearing Weston's sunglasses.
Laughing it up! I've been having problems uploading videos on blogger, so I don't know why the video is cut off.

Land of the Free

Since the 4th of July was on Sunday and we were leaving for Southern California that night, we just had dinner and dessert with Jason, Ashley, and Charity. Jason and Ashley were still in a hotel from their house flooding, which had a grill, so we went there for dinner. We had ribs, tri-tip, strawberry salad, chips, and a flag cake for dessert. It was delicious! We left that night around 7:30 and caught about 20 different firework shows along the freeway as were driving, so I got to see my fireworks too. I love our country and the freedoms we enjoy.
