Corvette Diner

When Casey's mom and Charity got into town we immediately relxed and got pedicures, grabbed some lunch at Casey's mom and I's favorite place, Nordstom Cafe, then we shopped until we dropped. After picking up Casey from work, and a little more shopping : ) we went to Corvette Diner. The food honestly isn't that great, except for the shakes and old fashioned desserts, but the atmosphere is so much fun. All the waiters and waitresses dress up and do their hair like back in the day, they throw straws and Bazooka bubblegum at you, and really try to play the part. They also have a DJ that plays oldies. We had a great time!

Casey got two shakes they were so good, but was very protective, hence the pinching of my straw so I couldn't drink any while taking the picture.

It's My Party

Well, I'm the big 2-4, but my 24th year couldn't have started out any better than it did. I had a great birthday! Jason and Ashley were in town the day before and we got to go to the zoo courtesy of Garth and Janelle, Casey made reservations at House of Blues (since my b-day was on Sunday), and then we went to Extraordinary Desserts which is always good. On Sunday we walked along the beach, then Garth and Janelle made a wonderful roast for dinner and once again we had Extraordinary Desserts, since that is where we got my birthday cake. I also got a lot of cool presents and cards. Thanks to everyone that was there, for all my great presents, e-mails, and phone calls.

The beautiful card from my mom. My sister Jocelyn and Joanna also gave me really cute cards.
Me letting Casey know I'm done taking pictures. He doesn't take them very often, but when he does, he can get a little crazy : )

Point Loma Lighthouse and Tidepools

As part of our fun-filled weekend with Jason and Ashley, we went to Point Loma and saw the lighthouse and the tidepools. The rock formations were more amazing at the La Jolla tidepools, but Point Loma had a lot more sea animals. Next time we go we'll look under more rocks and hopefully see more.

View from the Top

After a quick jaunt to Seal Beach, we went up to Mt. Soledad to see all the cool houses and the view. The view is amazing! You can pretty much see everything up there, including the San Diego Temple.

San Diego Zoo

I love the zoo! I had forgotten how fun it was, so I was glad when Jason and Ashley said that it was one of the things they wanted to see for their visit. I also have to thank my wonderful sister and brother-in-law Janelle and Garth for the passes. It was a great birthday present : ) We walked around the ENTIRE park, which is no small feat (100 acres), and saw just about every animal on display. It is like a jungle and so beautiful! I got so many good pictures that is was hard to choose which ones to share, but I think I picked the best ones. Enjoy!

We were glad we got there early because Pandas are more active in the morning and this one was just sitting there enjoying his bamboo.
I didn't really like taking pictures of animals through fences, but you can't deny what a beautiful creature it is.
Aloe Vera (I think this is my favorite)
Koala Bear. Isn't he just the cutest! I really liked how he was holding his little foot up.
Meerkat. Another time we saw them they were scouting the sky looking for birds that might harm their little ones. Little bit of trivia: Their favorite food is scorpions. They are immune to the poison.
R.O.U.S's (Rodents of Unusual Size). I don't know their real name, but that is the first thing I thought of when I saw them.
Komodo Dragon. They have such colorful and beautiful skin.
Just Monkeying Around!
Orangutan. He just sat there the entire time looking lazy.

Casey got that "Do I have to?" look when I asked him to take this picture, but I like how it turned out and it is one of my favorites.
Giraffes being fed by some kids. It's tongue is so long!

Turtle, turtle!
I thought it was cute how the one turtle was resting it's head on the other.

Seal Beach

While Chris was in town he wanted to see the ocean, so we went to La Jolla and saw Seal Beach. There is a cool walkway that you can go out on or you can go down to the sand as long as you stay behind the rope. Right now there a bunch of new pups being born, and they are so cute. It is fun to watch them sit there, wriggle around on their fat little bodies, or swim up to shore (they wait until they can take a wave in). They are such a lazy animal : )
I thought this was the cutest pup there

BYU vs. SDSU

I don't really have much to say about this one. BYU played SDSU this last weekend and it was not a pretty sight, but Casey still wanted me to post pictures. We only lost by 12 points and we're still going to at least have a piece of the conference championship (if we beat Utah on Saturday we'll win for sure), but it wasn't a fun game. Let's just say that the SDSU fans were not very classy as they showed their obvious dislike for BYU.
The fam. Garth is cheering because we just made a basket.

Sea World

Our friends Chris, Jeffrey, and Rick came into town to visit us and go to the BYU vs. SDSU game. The friday before the game we went to Sea World and had a great time. We went all over and saw the dolphin show, Shamu show, petted the bat rays, saw the moray eels, went in the shark encounter and the manatee rescue, and went on two rides. Casey and I got fun cards (go one day get the rest of the year free), so we're excited to go back again and again.

Day at the Museums

One Saturday Casey and I were planning on going to Balboa Park to visit the museums because it is museum month and we get half off, so we asked Janelle and Garth if any of the kids would want to go, so we took everybody that was home (Garin, Ethan, Trevon, Starlee, and Ryden). It was definately an experience taking 5 kids to the museums, what with changing diapers, one of them throwing up, and a little bit of whining : ) We survived though, and everyone had fun.
San Diego Hall of Champions
Being in the San Diego Hall of Champions we were surprised to see so much BYU stuff. They had this wall of fame that had LaVell Edwards, Robbie Bosco, Steve Young, Ty Detmer, and Clay Brown. They also had a BYU helmet on the wall and Ty Detmer's jersey in one of the cases. It's because of all the times we played in the Holiday Bowl in San Diego and because we are like the best school ever : )
Casey and I were on opposite ends of the tank and I could barely see his reflection in the corner when I was taking this picture. I thought it was cool looking.

The Amazing Casey

When we first moved down to San Diego, Garth and Janelle were still unpacking so Casey and I helped organize some things. One of them being the bookcase. While we were watching TV, Casey came out and showed us his amazing feat. He was pretty proud of himself : )

Sunset

When we were at the Viejas (the outlet stores 3 miles from where we're living) there was a beautiful sunset and I had to take a picture. I'm always glad when I see something I want to take a picture of and happen to have a camera. It makes life so much easier. Plus, it was the perfect ending to a great day of shopping : )

Casey's Office

I'm so proud of Casey and how hard he works to provide for our family, so I'm always excited to see where he works and show it off to everyone : ) He is working for Deloitte right now and this is his office in downtown San Diego.
