Day 1 - Hanalei Bay

On the our first day in Kauai, we woke up early and went to Hanalei Bay with Garth, Jonathan, and Taylor. While they surfed, Casey and I took pictures, enjoyed the warm water, and the beautiful scenery.
The night we were there and for part of the morning it rained and everything seemed to sparkle outside, including this leaf.
The fog covered the mountains every morning and then slowly rolled away

Aloha!

Here is our trip to Kauai. We drove down to Phoenix, AZ and met up with everyone at the airport and arrived in Lihue around 6:oopm. It was a long flight, but the view from the airplane as we landed was worth it. It is such a beautiful island and we were so excited to be there. After we gathered everyone's luggage (which was no easy task since there was so much), we got the rental car and headed to Garth's parents to get situated. Bob and Lynne were so nice to let all of us stay and we really appreciated it.

Kauai is the most scenic of the islands, so they film a lot of movies here (Jurassic Park, King Kong, Rundown, etc.)

BYU vs. Wyoming

I know, I know, I post a lot of BYU games, but it is football season and we watch A LOT of football. Plus, we are both so excited about how well BYU is doing this year. We're ranked 23rd with only two games left in the season. This game was another blowout. We won 55-7. It was a great game and we made #2 on ESPN's Top 10 that night with one of the catches by Mike Reed. If you go to the link below, you can watch the highlights from this season.

Lets hear it for our Cougars!
Kick-off
This is a video of Casey, Kevin and Josh getting a little crazy. They do it whenever something really cool happens. I was in a hurry to capture it since it happens spontaneously throughout the game, but you get the point. I usually get out of the way because I have been knocked over a few times : )
"My nose is froze." It was cold and I had to keep warming my nose throughout the game.

A-town

Casey and I had the opportunity to go visit Jason and Ashley in Atlanta, GA before they left for good, so we took advantage of it. I've always wanted to go to Georgia because it is the peach state, but Casey has always wanted to go because all the rappers think it is the shizzle : ) It was fun to see Georgia Tech where Jason is getting his masters. They have a cool campus. We also got to see a few things downtown that were fun, we played a few card games and found out how competetive we all are : ), and had a great time doing it all. Thanks to Jason and Ashley for letting us come visit!

I guess they put this car out at every game and we saw it at random places on campus
Casey thought this flag on the car was funny.
He thought this was funny too because Georgia Tech's rival is Georgia and their mascot is the bulldog.

Go Padres!
I had to take a picture with something to do with Peach. Unfortunately they didn't have just a Peach St, so we had to make do.

BYU vs. Air Force

The week after homecoming weekend we went to Colorado Springs with some friends (Spencer and his girlfriend Carly) to see the BYU game. I drove up with our friends and then we picked up Casey from the Denver airport because he had an internship interview in San Diego. Before the game we had a tailgate party with the young men from Spencer's hometown and Spencer's parents. We had brats. Yum! The pre-game entertainment and halftime show were interesting too. Along with the parachuters, 3 jets flew overhead and it was SO loud. They also had their famous trained falcon do tricks at halftime. We won of course. Was there any doubts? After the game we went to Famous Dave's BBQ. The food was really good and what made it even better was the fact that we got our entire meal (which was about $70 worth) free because we found little pieces of latex glove in two of the meals we ordered. We then drove to Spencer's hometown Alimosa and celebrated his birthday with his family. They made a wonderful birthday breakfast for him and were so nice to let us stay.

Dashboard Confessional Concert

Casey and I went to a Dashboard Confessional concert on Oct. 23. It was Casey's first concert, so it was kind of exciting. We weren't disappointed. Well, maybe a little because the opening band, Brand New, didn't play Casey's favorite song, but Dashboard Confessional did an awesome job. It was a lot of fun.

This was the coolest thing that I have ever seen at a concert. It was enclosed and dark so the lead singer of Dashboard had everyone hold up their cell phones and it looked like stars.

Homecoming Weekend

Oct 20-21 was Homecoming Weekend and Casey's mom came into town to celebrate it with us. Casey actually had to go down to San Diego for another interview, so Casey's mom and I got to spend some time alone. We went to out to eat to some really good restaurants like Tucci's, Kneaders, and Bombay House, and we also went to Homecoming Spectacular which was better than ever. When Casey came home we went to the game and then spent some time with Morris and Christi. It was great having Casey's mom in town and we decided that we should make a tradition out of coming to Utah for Homecoming Weekend. Maybe next year we'll try the 5K run : )

Gooooo Cougars!

Punkin Patch

I went down to San Diego for my great aunt's funeral. She was a great lady and will be missed, but I was glad to visit my family too. I got to go to a Pumpkin Patch with my niece, nephews, and my two sisters, and we had a great time. They are so cute. Also, on the flight home, the plane was overbooked, so I got bumped up to first-class. It was pretty cool and definately spacious. I've always wanted to sit in first class and now I have. It was a great weekend.
