Seattle

Since we are in Vancouver and Seattle is so close, Casey and I decided to go up for a weekend because we had both heard about all the neat things to do there. Our entire trip was about 24 straight hours, we got to do everything we wanted, and we had a blast. It was one of the best trips we've been on.

Frozen Bus Stop People in Fremont

Fremont Troll (that is a real VW bug he is holding)
Help me!
Aaargh
Fremont: Center of the Universe (or so the sign says)

World Famous Pike's Place Market
An employee throwing a fish that was bought
The beautiful flowers for sale at the market

Safeco field for the Mariners/Red Sox game (the Red Sox are our second favorite team)

The Big Papi, Manny Ramirez, and few other guys. I couldn't leave without getting a picture of them.
The Gum Wall down Post Alley at the Market
Thankfully, it only looks like he's licking it : )
The Seattle Temple
At least it's a BYU hat : ) The Space Needle
The view was amazing
This was Casey's favorite part because he thought it was so cool that there was a lake in the middle of the city.

Sand in the City

On Saturday we went to Sand in the City in downtown Portland. A bunch of companies volunteered to make sand sculptures to benefit a children's foundation. It was fun and they did a great job!

Some of the more "interesting" things we saw downtown

Beach Boys Concert

This last Friday we went to a Beach Boys Concert with Casey's mom. Casey and I felt like the youngest people there, but that is probably because we were. All of the older people reliving their younger days, and they were dancing and singing and it was fun to watch.

The opening act - The Beatniks
Hanging out for an hour until the Beach Boys came on

The Beach Boys (well a few of them, Brian Wilson is still the lead singer, but most of the others aren't the original members of the band)
Dancing to "Little Surfer Girl"Uncle Jesse! John Stamos, who played Uncle Jesse in Full House, was there and played the drums for a little while.

Farmer's Market/Saturday's Market

One Saturday we went to the Farmer's Market and Saturday's Market with Casey's mom and had so much fun. There were so many things we wanted to buy, and we ended up buying some veggies, berries, bread, and chevre cheese spread. We definately want to go back because it is so much fun to walk around and see all the food and the people.
Farmer's Market
This was my favorite stand to walk by. It smelled so good.
Casey waiting in line to get his organic biscuit sandwich
Eating my organic burrito with Tillamook cheese
The gypsies at Saturday's Market

We Love Downtown Portland

Weekends are our time to explore Portland/Vancouver and we have definately been filling up our weekends with fun things to do. Casey had a day off work, so we did a little shopping and checked out the Blues Festival and a few things Casey wanted to show me downtown before we met up with everyone for dinner.

Casey and the Wells Fargo Building where he works.

Ira Keller Fountain.

This is where we had dinner with Nate, Misty, Adalei and Sheree.

The have these drinking fountains everywhere downtown.

This is the spot on the river where Casey and I got engaged.
