More Fun with Candice

One of the reasons I got so far behind blogging was because we did so much last summer. Some of the other fun activities we did with Candice, were going to the San Francisco Zoo, San Francisco, the Jelly Belly Factory, and an adults night out at the drive-ins. Good times!

Weston "holding on really tight" in Malcolm's truck on the way to San Francisco.
The lion taking a cat nap in the sun
Casey lifting the boys up to see the zookeepers feeding the bears.
Weston imitating the flamingos. I love this picture.
Benson petting the goats with Candice.
 Ghiradelli Square
Running from the waves on Baker Beach
All of us looking good in our Jelly Belly hats.

 Squeezing in at the drive-ins
Our attempt at getting everyone in a picture. Casey would set the timer and then rush to get in place, but never quite made it :)

Yosemite

While Candice was here, we decided to make a trip to Yosemite. It was a first for Malcolm, Candice, and I. It is a gorgeous place and makes you very grateful for Heavenly Father's creations. If you plan on going, be prepared to make a whole day of it. Casey and I want to go back and hike half dome sometime too.

This was the first stop of the day. I think this was Bridalveil Falls.
On our hike up to Vernal Falls. You can't really tell, but we were pretty wet from the mist.
A double rainbow. What does it mean?
 The view from the top
Casey and the boys taking a breather at the top
 Everyone that went
Yosemite Falls. I was really thirsty :) These kind of shots are Casey's forte.
A few of us took a mini hike to the base of Yosemite Falls. We thought we got wet on our first hike, but it was nothing compared to what we looked like after this one.
 El Capitan
The littlest waterfall in the world
The water was pretty tasty. There were people filling up multiple water bottles because they said it was the best water you would ever find to drink.
 Yosemite Valley
Malcolm and Benson enjoying the view from Glacier Point. Our last stop of the day

Candice's Visit

Casey's cousin, Candice (Malcolm's sister), came to visit us from Pennsylvania at the end of July. This was her first visit to the West Coast, so we tried to fit as much into her 2 weeks as possible.

We started off her visit celebrating Malcolm's birthday
Opening presents
What's a party without games? I think the goal was to use as many of the pieces as possible.
We went to the lake a few times and Benson started swimming in floaties by himself.
Balancing while sitting on a log
The boys happily swimming
Balancing while standing on the log. This took many tries and provided a lot of entertainment for me as the photographer.
This picture makes me laugh

Lake Natomas

Casey's Grandma Creek came to visit in the middle of July 2011 and we went to Lake Natomas in Folsom to canoe and play in the water.
Malcolm, Casey, and Benson bringing the canoe to where we were sitting.
 Weston's turn
Help, I'm in a life vest and I can't get up. I had to help the poor thing get to his feet again.
Grandma Creek, Merle, Charity, and Spencer hanging out in the shade.
Going out on a ride with Casey. Don't ask me what he's doing.

My Bubbles!

Having a little fun in the tub. I had some pictures of Weston playing in the bubble bath when he was younger, so I wanted to recreate it for Benson. There favorite thing to do is wear Bubble hats.

Always pretty happy.
I just loved Benson's eyes in this picture
Benson was still in that chewing on everything stage
 Weston showing off his muscles

Happy Hollow Park and Zoo

At the beginning of July 2011, Casey had training in San Jose. We/I always love to go with him because we stay in a hotel and someone cleans up after us, we go swimming, and hang out during the day. I researched  a few more things to do this trip and found the Happy Hollow Park and Zoo. It was great for the kids. We spent a few hours there and the boys had a great time.

Feeding the mini horse
They had playgrounds throughout the park
 Photo op for mom
The kiddy rides. Weston really liked this one.
 They searched for dinosaur bones

 More playing
 Riding the carousel
Running in the wrong direction to the car, but at least we got to walk on this fun bridge.
